Description
Students still need direct instruction and practice in learning how to use technology deliberately and responsibly. They need opportunities to acquire and practice new skills so that when it comes time for them to:
- Use technology to consume information. They need to learn how to manipulate a device to research and expand background knowledge.
- Manipulate technology in a way that helps them take care of their and others’ health needs. For example, how do they adjust the volume in a way that keeps their ears safe and allows others to learn at the same time.
- Complete basic tasks like copying, cutting, and pasting so that they are able to quickly create unique media presentations and formats.
- Organize their thinking in a way that helps them be deliberate and thoughtful in the products they create for others to consume.
