Eyes That Kiss in the Corners is an absolutely amazing book. It is hands down, one of my top 3 of the year.

I listened to this book on Hoopla from my library. And the narrator did such a fantastic job. The way in which she expresses the emotion in this book just had me in awe.

And the writing is superb. I am a huge fan of verse and that is exactly how this book is written.

Now let’s get down to the story.

The author, Joanna Ho, does a wonderful job talking about embracing our beauty. And the generations it took to create that beauty.

And the strength that represents.

Honestly, the verse just serves the message so well.

We all need a story like this.

Teaching Ideas for Eyes That Kiss in the Corners

There are a couple of things that I think this book is perfect for!

One is self love and appreciation.

You know what automatically came to my mind?

SELFIES!

I can absolutely see reading this book to my students and using it to introduce the art of the selfie. I like to teach my students how we can amplify our positive assets and what we love about ourselves. You can see more about how I do this in the Selfie Project lesson I use with PreKindergarten.
